If you’ve never lost something in an Uber, cab, Lyft, or other vehicle that isn’t your own, count yourself lucky. You may have mastered Uber tipping, but no one’s perfect, and chances are you’ll forget something in an Uber soon enough (if you haven’t already). Fortunately, you’re not alone.

A new survey from the ride-share company itself, the 2019 Uber Lost and Found Index, highlights the most commonly forgotten (and most unexpected) items retrieved in Ubers around the United States. Unsurprisingly, a lost phone in an Uber is at the top of the list of the most commonly forgotten items. The full list is below—check it out, and then take extra care the next time you’re in an Uber that you don’t forget anything on this list.

1. Phone

2. Camera

3. Wallet

4. Keys

5. Purse/Backpack

6. Clothing

7. Glasses

8. Headphones

9. Vape/E-cig

10. ID/License

The annual Uber Lost and Found Index also highlights the most outrageous lost items—people have left everything from a Chihuahua to a set of gold teeth in their Ubers. A white-gold wedding band has even been lost (and hopefully found) in an Uber, as if anyone needed a good reminder to keep their valued possessions close.

Best of all, the Index reminds everyone how to retrieve their lost items. Watch the video to see how to access Uber lost and found, or follow the below steps.

1. If possible, call your driver, which you should be able to do using the Uber app. Under the Your Trips tab, you can see the trip where you may have lost an item. Select the trip and scroll down for the option for when you’ve lost something.

2. If you lost your phone in the Uber, you can log into your account on a computer or use a friend’s phone to log into your account. Follow the same steps as above, and when given the option, enter a friend’s phone number.

3. With either process, the phone with the number you provided will ring, connecting you with a driver. From there, you can coordinate retrieving your lost item.

With any luck, you’ll be able to find anything lost in an Uber using these steps. But the best Uber hack? Always double-check you have all your possessions (especially your phone) before exiting the car.
